Paper can be made from palm fibres, first by boiling them with sodium hydroxide, then bleached with hydrogen peroxide and sodium silicate. The paper can be used for handicrafts with its characteristics similar to the mulberry paper. It is suitable for community enterprises or farmers who do not want to invest a lot, adding value to the palm bunch and reducing environmental problems.
